WEGAI has extensive experience in Finite Element Modeling (FEM) of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, and all types of support structures. WEGAI was one of the first to utilize the Structural Analysis Program SAP for structural earthquake engineering applications. The program was developed in the mid 1970’s at U. C. Berkeley and then enhanced and made commercially available by Computers and Structures, Inc. All of our engineers utilize this program on a daily basis and are highly skilled in developing functional models for structural analysis of a wide variety of environmental loading conditions. Our models incorporate both the structural and non-structural components of equipment in order to best represent the system’s dynamic characteristics and structural vulnerabilities. We make use of FEM and structural analysis for qualification and pre-test analysis of all types of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, and supporting structures.
